Donnie Fowler, Funeral Director, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri in 1956. A 1975 graduate of Naylor High School, he began his career in the funeral service in 1984 and became a Missouri licensed funeral director upon completion of the state exams also in 1984. He is also a licensed Pre-need agent for both facilities. He is co-owner of Fowler- Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Inc. at Neelyville, where he is the President and Manager. He is also co-owner of Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and serves as Vice-President.
He has in the past served on the Naylor School Board and currently serves as vice-president of Naylor Memorial Cemetery Association and is in charge of plot sales. He has also served in the past as president of Gum Cemetery Association. Donnie is a member of the Missouri Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. He is an ordained minister and serves as pastor of a church in Naylor.
He married his wife, Suzy, in 1976. They have two sons, Greg and Josh. They also have two daughter-in-laws Greg’s wife, Paige and Josh’s wife, Shannon. Donnie and Suzy have one granddaughter Emma Grace.
Donnie often tells the families at services “ FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOUR FAMILY WE COUNT IT AN HONOR TO SERVE YOU AT THIS TIME.” His goal is to serve each family with trust and dignity and to be pleasing to the God he serves.
Donnie’s wife, Suzy is a 1976 graduate of Doniphan High School. She is a licensed Insurance Agent, notary and works as secretary and assist with services at the Neelyville facility. She is active in their church and serves the duties of a pastors wife with grace.
Greg Fowler,Donnie and Suzy’s oldest son, works with the family at Neelyville. Greg is a 2001 Graduate of Naylor High School. He and his wife Paige have one daughter, Emma Grace. Greg is very active in his church’s music and youth ministry. He is also a minister and assist in services and is currently serving his Funeral Directors Apprenticeship.
Josh Fowler, Donnie and Suzy’s youngest son, also works at the Neelyville facility. Josh is a 2006 Graduate of Naylor High School. He and his wife Shannon are active in their church where his dad serves as pastor. He is a Sunday School teacher and works in the church music ministry. He received his Associate Degree in Applied Funeral Science on December 14,2011 from Arkansas State University Mountain Home. He has also passed his National Boards in Science and Funeral Service Arts. Josh is currently serving his Embalming Apprenticeship both at the Neelyville and Poplar Bluff Locations
