Cliston C. Porter, 89, of Naylor Mo., formerly of Steeleville, Mo., died Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Current River Nursing Center.
Mr. Porter was born July 4, 1925 in Torch, Mo. He worked as a machinist for Berry Way Miller Bottle Wasler Manufacture. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the International association of Machinist. He served in the U.S. Army for three years and served in WWII.
On May 12, 1951, he married Mabel Hardin in Piggott, Ar. She preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2001.
Survivors include one son, Larry Porter of Naylor, Mo.; one sister Mary Fears, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one brother, Delbert Boyle, of Edwardsville, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, also preceding him in death are his parents, Ed Porter and Asley Crook; and one sister Grace Thomas
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel. Funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 in the chapel. Burial will be at Naylor Memorial Cemetery.
