Lavon Hazel Batten, 93, of Halls, TN., formerly of Naylor, Mo., passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 at Tennovia Residential and Hospice.
Mrs. Batten was born on Oct. 31, 1921 in Maynard, Ar. She was the secretary and treasure at Naylor High School. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, sewing and crafts. She attended the Naylor Christian Church and a member of Naylor Neighbors.
On May 14, 1942 she married John L. Batten II in Yuma, AZ. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1996.
Survivors include, her daughter, Mary Beth Smith, of Knoxville, TN.; 2 grandsons, Mathew Smith & wife Jessica, Benjamin Smith & wife Kimberly; and several nieces & nephews.
Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, John L. Batten Jr.; John L. Batten Jr.; her parents, William Harrison Spencer and Beulah Brooks Spencer; 2 sisters, and one grandson, Charles Daniel Smith.
Services will be held Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Mo. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and funeral service beginning at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve McFadden officiating. As well as a graveside service that will take place at Naylor Memorial Cemetery Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
