Stella Rose Elder, 83, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Westwood Hills Healthcare.
Mrs. Elder was born May 1, 1931, in East Prairie, Mo. On March 13, 1953, she married Wilburn "Clyde" Elder at Pocahontas, Ark. He preceded her in death November 14, 2003.
She attended the Second Baptist Church. Her hobbies were pictures, quilting, fishing and music.
Survivors include a son, Gary Elder and wife, Jackie, of Oklahoma City, Ok.; three sister, Viola Coonce of St. Louis, Catherine Jenning, Poplar Bluff, and Nora Culbertson of Sikeston; one brother, Thomas Stovall, of Texas; five grandchildren, Tonya Kesterson (Brian), Jeff Elder (Brandy), Kimberly Stevens (Phillip), Tyler Elder and Rylie Elder; seven great-grandchildren, Kristen, Cody, and Kayla Kesterson, Chesney and Braxton Stevens, and Emma and Ella Elder.
Also preceding her in death, a son, Mark Elder and her parents, John Hilery Stovall and Ella Margaret (Rutledge) Stovall.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m., at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo. The Rev. Willis Smith and Rev. Bill Orr will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Poplar Bluff.
