Shelia Y. Martindale, 62, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at her residence. A graveside service will be held at 3PM Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery, with Earl Dunbar officiating. Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home of Poplar Bluff, Mo. in charge of arrangements.
Sheila was born October 9,1949 in Pascola, MO and had lived in Poplar Bluff 17 years. She had formerly lived in Heavener, Oklahoma and was of the Baptist faith.
She worked in public service for nearly 40 years. Most recently she worked as a server at China Garden in Poplar Bluff, since 1999.
She enjoyed her family and grandchildren, cooking, taking care of and feeding birds outside, flower gardening and shopping.
Surviving are her children, Ronald D. Downs Jr. and wife, Cindy and William Joseph Downs and wife, Niki all of Wichita, Kansas; three sisters, Flora Mae Foster of Pascola, Helen D. Dunbar of Poplar Bluff and Maritta Joyce Jackson of Poteau, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

It was special to me to have know a person as nice as you. I will miss you.
My Aunt Shelia not only told me that she loved me, but more importantly she showed me that she loved me. I will forever be grateful for that.
Mom, I am so glad to call you my mom. You gave me love and joy through out my life. You have watched me grow into the man that I am. I think of you every day. I catch myself wanting to pick up the phone to call you just to hear your voice and to check to see how you are doing. I wish you were still here with me but I know that God has a bigger plan for you. We will see each other again one day. I love you Mom and miss you.

Shelia was my mother-inlaw, I called her mom, her and I had a special bond and I loved her very much and will miss her greatly, I Loved her with all my heart and will miss her deeply. All our talks, her advice and and the loving mother, grand-mother, and great grandmother that she was. God has a very special person, and even though she is gone, and greatly missed she is in no more pain. I pomised her I will take care of her son, grand-kids and will never forget her.
