Verda Jeane Russell, 67, of Naylor, Mo. died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
She was born April 14, 1947 to Jim and Jessie Landis Morley in Ponder, Mo.
She married Willard "Dutch" Russell April 24, 1962 in Doniphan, Mo. He died Feb. 24, 1955.
Mrs. Russell was a lifelong resident of Ripley County. She volunteered at Westwood Hills Healthcare in Poplar Bluff. Her hobbies included playing bingo, golf, and embroidering. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and family and going to church. She was a member of Palatka Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters: Donna and husband Larry Hastings and Tammy Thomas both of Naylor, Mo.; two sisters: Birdie Hogan of Neelyville, Mo. and Mary Lou Ramo of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers: James Buckhanan of Doniphan, Mo., and Roy Buckhanan of Oxly, Mo.; one grandchild, Trisha and husband, Brian; and two great-grandsons: Cameron and Matthew.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon Saturday July 26, 2014 at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel with funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. with Earl Ladyman officiating.
Burial will be at the Naylor Memorial Cemetery.
