Eva Fox

Eva Caroline Fox, 76, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Fox was born March 9, 1934, in Poplar Bluff. A lifelong resident of Poplar Bluff, she had worked in home health and was of the General Baptist faith. She was a member of American Legion Post no. 630, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans and past president of the Ladies Auxilliary. She enjoyed fishing and shopping.

On July 12, 1954, she married Jesse Fox in East St. Louis, Ill. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8. 2004. Also preceding her in death are one son, Paul Steven in 1965 and three brothers, Ralph Smothers, Clyde Smothers and Bartley Smothers and her parents, Leonard and Ellen Smothers.

Survivors include her significant other, Carl McIrvin of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Ellen Lee Jane Mangrum and her husband, Bobby, of Poplar Bluff and Gail Lynn Luttrull and her husband, Teddy Roosevelt Luttrull, of Williamsville; two sisters, Opal Browning Spencer and Neona Bishop, both of Poplar Bluff; one sister-in-law Margie Chapman of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Cliford Smothers of Converse, La.; six grandchildren, Ricky Luttrull, Randy Lutrull, Crystal Adam, Teddy Luttrull, Tammy Davis, and Tracie Luttrull; 12 great-grandchildren, Trever Luttrull, Ashten Luttrull, Leia Luttrull, Randy Luttrull Jr., Jeremy Wayne Adams, Addison Dean, Dylan Dean, Teddy Michael Luttrull, Dewayne Dustin Luttrull, Nikkie Burpo and her husband, C.J. Burpo, Mackenzy Yokel and Justin David Davis and his wife, Tana; four great-great grandchildren, Heaven Leigh Burpo. Cameron Leigh Bupro, Saige Davis and Kelsey Davis.

A graveside service was held at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with the Rev. Charels Kelley officiating. Fowler- Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff was in charge of arrangements.
