James Charles Jones, 67, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Wed. Sept. 15, 2010 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 followed by the funeral at 3 p.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, Mo. Services will be officiated by Rev. Wayne Foust.
Mr. Jones was born Sept. 7, 1943, at England, Ark. He had lived in Butler County for 41 years and a member and deacon of Clavary General Baptist Church.
He was a carpenter and loved playing his guitar, being with family and church activities.
In 1961, he was married to Dianna B. (Duff) Jones in East St. Louis, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are his three children, Jeanny Metzing and husband, Rick of Aledo, Texas, Jimmy Lee Jones and Jule Ann Ray and husband Robert all of Poplar Bluff; four sisters, Linda Ross and family, Margaret Simas and family, Virginia Vines and family and Dixie Anderson and family; a brother, Freddie Jones and family; nine grandchildren, Brandi Gonzalez and husband, Jason, Jenifer Jones, Britney Jones, Caleb Jones, Alisha Metzing, Logan Jones, Tyler Ray, Zachary Ray, Lance Michael Jones; and a very special niece, Janie Borgman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Curtis Jones and Beatrice Jones.
