Lawrence E. Hillis

Lawrence E. Hillis, 66, of Poplar Bluff departed this life on July 9, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.
Lawrence was born on November 30, 1952 to the late Cecil and W. Geneva (Chatman) Hillis in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  He was united in marriage to Janet (Stratton) Hillis on July 4,1970. 
Lawrence was a devout man of God and ministered God's word for many years.  He was a loving and devoted family man deeply admired by his loved ones. 
Lawrence is survived by spouse, Janet Hillis,  four daughters, Regina (Jeff) Slusher, Amanda (Robert) Dillinger, Melanie (David) Hobbs, Natalie Head,   seven grandchildren, Jacob (Harley) Slusher, Riley Slusher, Emma Head, Chase Dillinger, Tabitha Head, Bailey Hampton, Truman Hobbs, great-granddaughter, Allie Slusher, siblings, Gracie (Richard) Holford, Ted (Cheryl) Hillis, Nancy (Chris) Dunivan and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved. 
Lawrence was preceded by his parents. 
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11th, 2019 6:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, MO.
Funeral services will be on Friday, July 12th, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home chapel with  Scott Wilkerson and Kevin Eudaley officiating. Burial will take place in Dunning Cemetery.
