Sue Bailey

Sue Aloa Alexander-McKinney-Bailey, born June 15, 1938, passed away peacefully at her home in Colorado Springs on December 5, 2019.  

Sue was born at home in Butler County, Mo. to Chester C. and Floye M. Alexander.  She attended Blue Water and Asher Schools in Wayne County, and Kenyon Elementary and Poplar Bluff Junior High in Poplar Bluff. 

She married Eugene R. McKinney in February 1955.  The marriage was dissolved in 1957.  On February 22, 1967, she married Norman Bailey, who passed away in April 2013.  After working at various jobs in Poplar Bluff, Sue eventually retired from Rowe Furniture in 2007.  She was well known for her cooking and baking skills, and other hobbies including sewing, crafts, reading and antique shopping.  

Her greatest joy was spending time with friends and family, including siblings, their spouses, her son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was greatly loved by all and will be sorely missed.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Cecil; infant sister, Peggy and brother, Herschel C.Alexander.

She is survived by her brothers, Richard Alexander (Sue) of Defiance, Mo. and Charles 'Ed' Alexander (Lois) and sister, Dorthy Delores West both of Poplar Buff; her son, Richard McKinney (Denise) and her grandchildren Steven and Sarah, and seven great-grandchildren, all of Colorado Springs, Colo.  and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Services will be held December 20, 2019 at 11 am at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff with interment to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Hwy W in Wayne County, Mo.
