Clarence "Archie" Rommel

Clarence "Archie" Rommel, 87, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday September 10, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Rommel was born November 1, 1926 in Poplar Bluff. He was a retired baker. He was of the Baptist faith and he loved his dogs, enjoyed watching the Cardinals play baseball. Christmas was his favorite time of year, as he spent time visiting relatives at his nieces Wanda Talkington’s home. Mr. Rommel is survived by his children, Larry Rommel and wife, Jan, Dewayne Rommel and wife, Barbara, Kenny Rommel and wife, Carol, and daughter, Phyllis Rommel; 2 step-sons; Roger Harris and Bill Link; 3 sisters, Grace Elledge, Ila Bower and Sally Elder and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Rommel, his parents, Victor and Violet Rommel, and a daughter, Virginia; 6 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation will be at 11am Friday September 12, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff, Mo., followed by funeral service at 12:30 p.m.,with Rev. Ralph Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Little Brushy Cemetery.
