Lawrence "John" Buhler, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away on Sat. Jan. 14, 2017 at the John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center.
Mr. Buhler was born on April 27, 1926 in Butler County, Mo. He worked as a farmer and enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, gardening and his grandchildren. Lawrence was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He attended Harviell Pentecostal Church serving as a Sunday school teacher & Superintendent, as well as serving on the church board.
On March 24, 1948 he married Sweety Belle Barker in Poplar Bluff, MO. She preceded him in death on May 8, 2015.
He is survived by 1 son, Cecil Buhler & wife Sherin of Littleton, CO.; 1 daughter-in-law, Charlotte Buhler of Summersville, Mo.; 5 grandchildren, Mathew & Mark Buhler, Christina Hubbard, Shelia Stoops, and Melissa Holland; 9 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death is 1 son, Johnny Buhler; parents, Henry & Edna Buhler; and brothers, Carl, Clarence, Delbert, Herbert, and Orville Buhler
Visitation will be from 11:00 - 1:00 Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. Funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Leroy Murray. Burial will take place in Black Creek Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
