Amelda Ruth (Helvey) Pennington, 91, of Harviell, passed away March 8,2012 at her residence. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be 2 p.m, Sunday, March 11, 2012 in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Larry Ward officiating. Burial will be in Kinsey Cemetery, Harviell, Mo.
Mrs. Pennington was born March 29, 1920, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She was a member of Fagus General Baptist Church. A homemaker, she enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and quilting.
She was preceded in death by four husbands, Henry Virgil Armes, John Loury, Harvey Robinson, and Virgil Pennington.
She is survived by daughter, Norma Trout and husband, David of Piggott, Arkansas, Shirley Jackson and husband, Harold of Poplar Bluff, son Jerry Armes and wife, Vicki of Harviell and Gene Loury of Florida; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren
Also preceding her in death are children, Jesse Armes, Mary Camren; and stepson, Eddie Loury; her parents, Willie and Effie Helvey; sisters, Mary Underwood, Ann Ellsworth, Gerldine Corbett, and brother William Helvey and 2 grandchildren.
