Anna Laura Carpenter of Doniphan, passed away October 8, 2011 at the Mark Twain Caring Center. She was 85 years,1 month and 21 days.
Ms. Carpenter was born August 17, 1926 at Jackson, Kentucky. She had lived in Ripley County for 40 years and had previously lived in Hamibton, Ohio. She was a faithful wife, mother and missionary with her husband for many years. She loved playing the piano, going to church and singing. She attended the Revival Time Tabernacle Church, Poplar Bluff.
On November 10, 1945 she was united in marriage to Rev. W.E. Carpenter in Ohio. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2001.
Survivors include her children, Ronda L. Carpenter, Dennis L. Carpenter and Sheila L. Carpenter; two sisters Ollie Mae Dirck and Maude Wilkerson; grandchildren, Debbie and Cornell Berry, Sondra and Yomi Ajasin, Anna Dunning, Thomasina Dunning, William Carpenter, Ashley Carpenter, Debra and Eric Gettings, Aaron Carpenter, Rob Cates, and Tom Cates. Sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.
She is precded in death by her parents, Sherman Rowland and Lula (Moore) Rowland, her husband, Rev. W.E. Carpenter and five brothers.
Visitation will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday October 13, 2011, followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. at the Revival Time Tabernacle Church with Pastor Jerry Summers officiating. Burial will be in the Belleview Cemetery, Doniphan, Mo.
