Bennie Redus Sr

Bennie Sherman Redus Sr., 80, of Fairdealing, Mo., died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medial Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Mr. Redus was born on Jan. 5, 1934, in Gatewood, Mo., to the late Everett Redus and Nancy Arnold Redus. He was a carpenter and a lifelong resident of Ripley County. He served as road comission in Mo., and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to auctions. Mr. Redus was a veteran of the U.s. Navy and served in the Korean Conflict. On March 25, 1953 he married Ruth Mae Cates, in Pocahontas Ark. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2008. Survivors include his children, Gaylia Ruth Rowland (Ron) of Doniphan, Mo., Bennie Redus Jr. (Stella) of Phoenix Az., Jeffery Redus(Dana) of Fairdealing, Mo.; 3 sisters, Mary Ann Youck, Rockford, Ill., Etta Pullen of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Virgie Hayes of Gatewood, Mo.; 6 brothers, Tony Redus of Pacific, Mo., Clarance Redus of Wappapello, Mo., Johnny Redus of Gatewood, Mo., Joseph Redus of Doniphan, Mo., Truman Redus of Wisconsin, Buster Redus of Gatewood, Mo.; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Larry, Matt, Corbin, Jelieann, Kyle, Noah; 6 great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kristina, Shannon, Lauren, Everett, and Adaleigh. Visitation will be held Friday, March 7, 2014 from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel and Funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. at New Home Church in Gatewood, Mo. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery.
