Bertha Beatrice Beecher

Bertha Beatrice Beecher, 97, of Houston, Texas, departed this life Saturday, January 10, 2015, at her home in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Beecher was born October 24, 1917, at Coon Island, Missouri. She was married to Harvey Beecher and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Gracie, as well as 1 sister, Iva Hancock and 1 niece Googie Kingry. She is survived by 1 daughter Jessie Beecher Cortez of Houston, TX., 1 grand-daughter, Yolanda Martinez; 2 great-grandchildren Brandon Martinez and Sophia Morina and 3 great- great- grandchildren, Madison, Caleb and Morgan Martinez and 1 niece Shirley Dollins. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and embroidering. Visitation will be held Friday Jan. 16, 2015, beginning at 6 pm and Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Neelyville, with services following at 10 am Saturday morning. Bud Beecher will officiate and burial will follow in the Coon Island Cemetery.
