Bettie Sue (Pitt) Raulston departed this life on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Center after a brief illness. She was 72 years old.
Bettie was born March 17, 1944 to the late Robert (Bob) and Mildred Jewell (Ham) Pitt, in Poplar Bluff. Her sister Frances (Pitt) Strickland also preceded her in death. She attended New Home General Baptist Church, where she helped with the nursing home ministry. Mrs. Raulston enjoyed spending time with family and playing with her dachshund, Molly. She also enjoyed baseball games, and rarely failed to watch the St. Louis Cardinals play on TV.
On June 24, 1981, she was united in marriage to Charles Raulston. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Mark McMullin and wife Kim and Charles Raulston II (Chuck), all of Poplar Bluff. Two brothers, Jim Pitt and Bob Pitt; step-children, Riley Raulston and Michelle (Raulston) Crutchfield; one grandchild, Cori (McMullin) Ruprecht; three step-grand children, Riley Raulston, Jay Raulston, Courtney Raulston, Craig Crutchfield and Kiersten Crutchfield; one great-grandchild, Max Ruprecht; nieces and nephews, Brook Hart, Robert Pitt, Jimmie Jo Pitt, Roger Pitt, Steve Pitt, Regina Miller, Robyn Pryor, Jerry Strickland, Robyn Strickland with numerous great nieces and nephews; as well as nieces by marriage that were like daughters to her; Tresa Pratt and Lisa Aubuchon.
Bettie was the rock of the family for many years that everyone would turn to.
Visitation will begin 6pm Monday, April 18, 2016, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 2:30 pm Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
