Bonnie Darlene Harlan Hill

October 15, 1944 — February 13, 2013

Bonnie Darlene (Harlan) Hill, 68, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Wednesday February 13, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Mrs. Hill was born October 15, 1944, in Neelyville, Mo. to James and Elda (Kittredge) Harlan. On February 5, 1966, she married Eugene B. Hill and was happy to have celebrated 47 wonderful years together. Bonnie was a wonderful cook and loved feeding her many friends and family. She enjoyed quilting, canning and always had a huge garden. She was a member of Fellowship General Baptist Church. She had been a member of TOPS 734 for 30 years and was proud to achieve KOPS status. Bonnie was also a caregiver to so many including her aunt, uncle and mother. One of her greatest pleasures was being a grandmother and she delighted in caring for her 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, James W. Harlan, in 1984. She is survived by her husband, Gene Hill; her daughter, Darlene Shackleford and son-in-law Kevin Shackleford; three beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Gavin and Andrew Shackleford; her mother, Elda Harlan, all of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Linda French and husband, Harvey of Harviell, one brother, Alan Harlan and wife, Alisia of Doniphan; her mother-in-law, Nora Hill, and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation will be from 12:30- 2 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Byron Beck officiating. Burial held in the Kinsey Cemetery near Harviell, Mo.
