Carl Wesley Felts, 76 of Harviell entered into Heaven Sunday, August 7, 2011 at his residence. Visitation will be 6-9PM Tuesday August 9, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be at 11AM Wednesday, the 10th at Temple Baptist Church, 1813 Barron Road, Poplar Bluff. Rev. Steve Patterson officiating and burial will be in Memorial Gardens. Carl was born July 9, 1935 in Harviell, MO He had formerly lived in St. Louis, Mo He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He retired from General Motors in 1987, after 31 years of service. He then became a self-employed carpenter. Fourteen years ago he moved to Poplar Bluff, where he built his retirement home. He and his wife were licensed pilots and scuba divers. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating on the current river, working in the yard and taking care of his wife. September 5, 1959 he married Helen Wilson-Felts in Poplar Bluff. She survives. Also surviving are four sisters; Ruth Tolleson (Earl), Nashville, TN; Mary Silkwood (Ed), Poplar Bluff; auneita Keller (Duane), Bonne Terre; Jane McGuire (Sonny), Montgomery City, MO; and special relatives and caregivers; Donny and Linda Emmons; Fairdealing; and many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Carl was preceded in death by his parents Winfred and Beulah Felts and brother Donald Felts. In lieu of flowers, make memorials to Temple Baptist Building Fund 1813 Barron Rd.
