Carl "Butch" Leonard Ward

Carl "Butch" Leonard Ward, 74, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on February 27, 2023, at his home in Poplar Bluff. Butch was born on May 7, 1948, to the late Burl and Geraldine Ward in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  He married Joann (Craig) on March 1, 1968.  She survives. Butch enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, John Wayne movies, and above all, spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.  He was a faithful member of the Palace of Praise in Poplar Bluff. Butch is survived by spouse, Joann Ward, son, Joe L (Chrirstine) Ward, daughter, Carol (Kim) Combs grandchildren, Joe Dalton (Samantha) Ward, Ethan Ward, great grandchildren, Joe Gannon, Nolan, Jaxon, brother, Wesley (Thelma) Ward, sisters, Sharron Riddle, Patricia (Leon) Kirkley, sister-in -law, Thelma Ward, brother-in-law, Jim Bounds, and sister-in-law, Earline Ward. Butch was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Emma Stout, Brenda Bounds, and John Ward Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2nd, 2023 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at The Palace of Praise Church 1400 Herschel Bess Blvd. Funeral services will be on Friday, March 3rd, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Palace of Praise with Mike Craig and Bishop Kent Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Sparkman Cemetery. Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
