Carol A. Bryant, 69, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died peacefully on June 27, 2013, at her home.
Mrs. Bryant was born March 7, 1944, in Harviell, Mo., to Homer Sylvester and Mary Deliah (Deckard) Dunlap. She graduated from Naylor High School in 1961 and on February 20, 1965 married Joe Bryant, in Poplar Bluff. Carol and Joe owned and operated Joe's Fashion Footwear in Poplar Bluff for more than thirty years. An active member of the Palace of Praise Church of God, she joyfully served alongside her husband in the greeters/ushers ministry and loved her Sunday School class. She enjoyed reading, fishing, arts and crafts.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Todd Bryant and wife, Paula of Jonesboro, Ar., and one daughter, Shannon Bryant Gamble and husband, Dennis, of Republic, Mo.; four sisters, Alta Buffington of Poplar Bluff, Alma Allen and husband, Norman of Poplar Bluff, Janice Estel and husband Dennis of Sedalia, Doris Weber and husband, Mark of Russellville, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Bettie Dunlap of Poplar Bluff; three brothers, Bill Dunlap of Poplar Bluff, Glenn Dunlap and wife, Floyce of Broseley, James Dunlap and wife, Lenora of Poplar Bluff, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Norman Dunlap; sister-in-law, Mary Dunlap and brother-in-law, Vernon Buffington.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013, at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Palace of Praise Church of God, with Bishop Kent Miller and Rev. Randy West officiating. Burial will be held in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
