Charles Dewayne Brooks Jr

Charlie Brooks Jr., 36, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at his home. He was born January 7, 1981 in Poplar Bluff. On November 22, 2004 he married Angela Marie Brooks. She preceded him in death February 22, 2013. He is survived by his father, Charles Brooks Sr.; his mother, Donna (Grace ) Short and step-father, Jesse Short; children, Josef Bailey and Carley Brooks; step-grandparents, Jessie and Levear Short; a sister, Wenonnah Grace and sister-in-law, Jonia Davis; one brother, Doyle Brooks and sister-in-law, Dana Brooks, as well as brother-in-law, Brandon Metz and two aunts, Carol Wilson and Dee Brooks. He is also preceded in death by a son, Harley Brooks and grandparents, Doyle Switzer, Veda Switzer and Marie Grace. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church, 817 Arthur Street, with the Rev. Michael Pope and Rev. Steven Winberry officiating.
