Charles "Tom" Mansfield

Charles Thomas "Tom" Mansfield, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, at his home. Mr. Mansfield was born May 25, 1933, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to the late Charles D. and Stella (Lydy) Mansfield. He retired from the United States Air Force and later worked at Gates Rubber for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. On December 31, 1977 he married Sue (Klinkhardt) Mansfield. She survives. He is also survived by children, Audrey Batson, Cindy Piroli, Sherry Smith, Charles Thomas Mansfield Jr. and two step-children, David Duckworth and Gina Carter; one brother, Danny Mansfield; 17 grandchildren, Amie Hays, Timothy Krishna, Patrick Krishna, Kristy Hornbeck, Kelly Downs, Christopher Piroli, Wendy Piroli, Casey Frish, Kerey Smith, Amber Maples, Ashley Maples, Robert Rowland, Charles Thomas Mansfield III, Alexis Mansfield, Madelaine Mansfield, Matthew Mansfield, and Maura Mansfield; 11 great-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Barbara Wyrick and Diane Rowland also precede him in death. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. (noon) Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, in Poplar Bluff, followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. Audrey Batson will officiate. Burial in Memorial Gardens in Poplar Bluff with full military honors.
