Clifford Nelson

Clifford Lee Nelson, 73, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Center. Mr. Nelson was born March 30, 1940, in Parma, Mo. He was a retired iron steel worker who had served in the United States Army. He enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, hunting and being with his grandchildren. He was married to Sue Ann Nelson for 47 years. Survivors include two sons, Scott Hallum and Rick Nelson; three sisters, Pat Loosemore, Peg Cooper and Dorothy Yates; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Randy Nelson; two daughters, Robin and LeeAnn; his parents, Luther and Pearl Nelson; and one brother, Samuel "Wink" Nelson. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The Graveside funeral service will begin at 11a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Ash Hill Cemetery, with full military honors. The Rev. Everett Gunter will officiate.
