Clyde S. Harwell

Clyde Sterling Harwell, 90 of Poplar Bluff passed away Monday July 16, 2012 at his home. Mr. Harwell was born February 17, 1922 at Hendrickson, Mo. to the late William Marion and Dora Bell (Bollinger) Harwell. He had lived most of his life at Poplar Bluff, but had previously lived in Arizona and Ava, Mo. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church at Poplar Bluff and Masons Lodge 209. Mr. Harwell served in the US Army during WWII and was a retired as a self-employed plumber. On November 8, 1974 he married Judy (Jackson) Harwell at Doniphan, Mo. She survives. Also surviving are 7 children, Rose Marie "Shorty" Jones of Paris Tn., Janis K. Hale of Puryear, Tn., Sandy Hatchell (Gary) of Springfield, Mo., Ross Allen Shaw II of Poplar Bluff, Steven Shaw (Denise) of Catawissa, Mo., Stan Shaw (Lisa) of Imperial, Mo., and Dora B. Burns (Bryan) of Poplar Bluff; 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Brittany, and Dillon Shaw of Poplar Bluff, Nicole Shaw of Imperial, MO, Dominik Carnell of Poplar Bluff, Teri (Gene) Wilfred of TN, and 3 other granddaughters; 7 great-grandchildren, Payton Sainio of Poplar Bluff, Nikki Johnson (Ricky) of TN, Kayce Mianoway (Michael) of TN, and 4 other great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; Drake, Chance, Gage and Katlynn of TN; 2 great-great-great grandchildren. Mr. Harwell is preceded in death by his father, William Marion Harwell and mother Dora Bell Harwell; two sisters, Beatrice "Sissy" Harwell and Della Swan; eight brothers, Lee Harwell, Lum Harwell, Claude Harwell, Fred Harwell, Stafford Harwell, Chester Harwell, Edwin Harwell and Lonnie Harwell. A memorial visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Temple Baptist Church, 1813 Barron Rd., Poplar Bluff, followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. with Rev. Steve Patterson officiating. A private family burial with full Mitary Honors will be held at a later date at Mo. State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
