Curtis Deal

Curtis Deal, of Poplar Bluff, passed away June 1, 2011at the age of 49. Visitation for Mr. Deal will be Friday, June 3, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Rev. Luther Abbott and Rev. Kevin Hall officiating. Burial in City Cemetery, Poplar Bluff, Mo. with full military honors. Mr. Deal was born June 6, 1961 to parents Jerry and Mary (Buffington) Deal, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was a sheetrock hanger by trade, and enjoyed hunting, running his dogs and playing baseball. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and served in the United States Army from 1983-1988. In 1983 he was married to Judith Deal, who preceded him in death on January 7, 2010. On October 30, 2010 he was married to Raetta (Jackson) Deal in Poplar Bluff. She survives. Also surviving are his parents; one sister Teresa Smarr and husband Charles of Columbia, Mo.; two step-children Robbie Dennis and Amy Dennis of Poplar Bluff; and two step-grandchildren; Maison Dennis and Olivia Dennis of Poplar Bluff and a nephew; Brian Smarr.
