Dana Mechelle Lepold-Beckwith, 48, of Naylor, Mo., passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2017, following a courageous 19-year battle with cancer. Her final victory was won surrounded by those she lived for.
Dana was born October 14, 1968, daughter of Jim and Theresa Lepold of Naylor. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff.
She spent her life in Southeast Missouri enjoying everything life had to offer. She loved spending time laughing and talking with her many friends and family. Countless summer days were spent enjoying the calming Current River, the peace of tending to her flowers, and the excitement of St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
Dana’s greatest joy came from her daughter and greatest accomplishment, Makenzie Beckwith.
Countless others were touched and inspired by Dana through her nearly 20 years working for Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Marketing and as the Office Manager of the Doniphan Clinic.
Survivors include her parents and daughter; very special companion Scott Hayes; a sister, Tifani (Steve) Babcock of Springdale, Ark.; a brother, Nick (Ashley) Lepold of Wappapello, Mo.; a nephew, Brandon Babcock; and three nieces, Paige Babcock, Sydnie Babcock, and Mary Claire Holloway.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Weldon and Marie Young and paternal grandparents, Anton and Mary Lepold.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 10, beginning at 5 p.m. at Palace of Praise Church in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 11, beginning at 2 p.m. at Palace of Praise Church in Poplar Bluff with Donnie Fowler officiating. Final resting place will be Gum Cemetery near Naylor.
