Deborah Ruth Powell

Deborah Ruth Powell, 57, of Dudley, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Powell was born on Jan. 4, 1959, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She was a housekeeper at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Her hobbies included, spending time with grandchildren watching cooking shows and cooking. She was a member of a bowling league and had numerous bowling trophies. She was of the Baptist faith. On May 19, 1974 she married Manuel Danny Powell in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Elvira Capper, Danielle McElhaney, and Danny Powell all of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Melissa Coleman of Doniphan, Mo.; her mother, Elvira (Davis) Whitmer of Lakeland, Fl.; 5 sisters, Margie Patterson, Doris Stallings, Pam Freeman, Lilly Whitmer, Shirley Whitmer; 11 grandchildren, Maryia Powell, Ryan Kirk, Brianna Capper, Austin Coleman, Tyler Kirk, Nathan Coleman, Elizabeth Kirk, Savanah Powell, Darla Wilkerson-Powell, Emma Powell, and Ryker Powell; 1 great-grandchild, Leo Capper; as well as numerous friends and family. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Whitmer; and 2 sisters, Connie and Cindy Whitmer. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 1:00p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015 at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Sharron Stadler officiating. Burial will be at Cyprus Creek Cemetery in Fairdealing, Mo.
