Dennis D. Scott

Dennis D. Scott, 65, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his home. Son of Grover D. Scott and the late Ruby E. Freeman-Scott, Dennis was born January 31, 1952 in Poplar Bluff, where he grew up and graduated high school in 1970. He went on to be a building contractor for many of the Poplar Bluff community builders. Survivors include his father, Grover D. Scott; one sister, Sandra F. Scott-Richardson-Boyers and husband, Melvin, and brother, Gary L. Scott and wife, Edie; one niece, Kelly Ann Richardson-Smith and husband, Tim, as well as four nephews, Kurt D. Richardson and wife, Melissa, Daniel R. Scott and wife, Christi, Brian E. Scott all of Poplar Bluff and Christopher E. Scott and wife, Melissa from Pennsylvania; five great nieces and four great-nephews. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby E. Freeman-Scott, September 7, 2007; his paternal grandparents, E. O. and Birth Scott, and maternal grandparents, William B. and Mable C. Freeman. Dennis' family will honor his wishes to be cremated and will hold a memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center 200 South B Street Poplar Bluff. Rev. Ted Elledge will officiate. Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff in charge of arrangements.
