Donald Joseph Mciver

Donald Joseph McIver, 61, of Sikeston, MO passed away on February 27, 2025, at Hunter Acres Care Center in Sikeston, Missouri. Donald was born on March 9, 1963, to Frederick and Shirley Ann (Gholson) McIver in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Donald, as a child had an incredible imagination and a deep curiosity about how things worked.  He loved taking things apart and putting them back together, finding joy in the process of discovery.

He was a mechanic and dedicated truck driver who found great joy in witnessing the breathtaking beauty of America.  Each mile traveled was not just a job for him; it was an opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life.  He loved being outdoors in the sunshine.  He was very personable and never met a stranger which often led to a lasting friendship.

Donald is survived by his children and grandchildren along with his sisters Cecelia Tuey (McIver) of Illinois, Lori Olvera (McMullin) and husband Danny Joe of Aurora, CO, and stepbrother Mark McMullin and wife Kim of Poplar Bluff, MO.  Also, Brother-in-law Dale Terry of Poplar Bluff, MO. Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley (Gholson) McIver, Father Frederick D. McIver, sister Arda Jane Terry, and brothers Michael and James McMullin. The services are being handled by Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home.
