Dorothy Doty

Dorothy Nevada Doty, 86, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., went to be with her Lord and Savior January 2, 2015, in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Doty was born July 5, 1928 in Rombauer, Mo. She was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping and cooking. She volunteered as a receptionist at Baby View where her presence was adored by all. She is survived by one son, Randy Mitchelle and wife, Linda of Rochester, Ill.; four daughters, Gayle Deem and husband, Gary of Poplar Bluff, Sharon Smith and husband, Charlie of Hot Springs, Ark., Kim Joyner and husband, Marian of Poplar Bluff, and Ronda Modglin and husband, Doug of Puxico, Mo.; a sister Fern Gillean of Alton, Ill. She was also blessed with 9 grandchildren, Mike, Eric and Ryan Mitchelle, Jill Wilson, Ashley Deem, Staci Krauss, Cody Smith, Spencer and Brody Modglin and 14 great-grandchildren Kaylee, Olivia, Caden, Carter, Christian, Jace, Mason, Gage, Kortney, Caroline, Jack, Kate, Lily and Charlotte. Mrs. Doty is preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Lela Ham; two husbands, Bob Mitchelle and Howard Doty as well as two brothers, Ivan and Aden Ham. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St., Poplar Bluff, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., in the chapel, with the Rev. Vernon Kneir officiating. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Poplar Bluff.
