Doyle Wayne Switzer

Doyle Wayne Switzer, 79, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away November 25, 2016 at Westwood Hills Healthcare in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Switzer was born September 2, 1937 in Doniphan, Mo., to the late Delbert Switzer and Nettie Switzer. He enjoyed to read. On November 2, 1963 he married Veda Switzer. She preceded him in death in 2008. Mr. Switzer is survived by sisters, Vennie Biekert, Evelyn Wills, Elsie Carter and Lee Groves; a daughter-in-law, Dee Brooks; one granddaughter, Shanna Luke, as well as one great-grandchild, Mercedys Waite. Mr. Switzer was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Dewayne and David Brooks; a brother, Emery Switzer and two sisters, Lorene Yawney and Ylonda Barks. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2016 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., in the chapel, with Rev. Keith Luke officiating. Burial will be in Ash Hill Cemetery near Fisk, Mo.
