Earnest Raymond Reece

Earnest Raymond Reece, 88, of Poplar Bluff Mo., passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Reece was born on June 6, 1925 in Atkins Arkansas. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing his guitar, and dancing. He was of the Baptist faith and a life-time member of the D.A.V. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. In 1986 he married Eathel (Dixon) Reece. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Jimmy Reece and wife, Sue, Raymond Reece and wife, Sharon, Ricky Reece and wife, Tina, and Darlene Hower and husband, Chuck; daughter-in-law, Diane Reece; four sisters, Ruth Catlett, Wanda Arevalo, Jo Eaton and Ann Dotson-Garrison; two brothers, Gerald Reece and James Reece, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Reece was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Roxada Reece; a son Buddy Reece; a daughter and son- in-law, Fay Brown, and her husband, Arnold; three sisters, Dorothy Sledge, Wilma Moore, Lois Robertson;and one brother, George Reece. Visitation will be held 11 a.m.Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by funeral services at 1 pm., in the funeral home chapel. Chaplain Bill Hatch Jr. will officiate. Burial will be the Kinsey Cemetery near Harviell Mo.
