Edith Mae Edwards, 76, of Piedmont, Mo. died Monday, February 21, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 4, 1934 in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of the late Joe and Maude Bell. She met and married the love of her life, Don Edwards, in the fall of 1957. Don passed and led the way just 111 days before, on November 2, 2010.
Darlin enjoyed entertaining and was always welcoming friends and family into her home with a glass of iced tea and an open heart. Her life was full of music, dance, and never ending card games. In her late years, she enjoyed nothing more than grabbing an afghan and curling up on the couch with her grandkids and watching movies.
She raised four daughters, Vicci Ott, Becky Beatty, Teresa Graham, and Beverly (Wally) Meyer.
In addition to her four daughters, she is survived by two brothers, Floyd (and the late Glenda) Bell, and James (Lenor) Bell. She was preceded in death by her husband Don Edwards and two brothers, Joe (Joyce) Bell, and Bernel Bell.
She was most proud of her grandchildren, Wade Edwards, Chrisy Beatty, Heather ( Jeff) Brockert, Markelle Graham, Olivia Meyer, Jack Meyer, and the newest addition, great-granddaughter, Stella Grace Brockert. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Thomas Augustus Ott.
She met each of life's struggles with a strong mind and relentless will. Those who were touched by her warm heart and loving hands will never forget her strength and beauty. While Edith will be greatly missed by her family and friends, we take comfort in knowing that she and Don are together forever...laughing, dancing and having a ball.
