Elbert W. "Bill" Lacey, 75, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. formerly of Anderson, Indiana, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at his home. He was born November 9, 1937 at Louisville, Ky. to the late Elbert W Lacey and Hester Cravins Lacey.
On September 12, 1980 at Noblesville, Indiana, He was married to Shirley Stone. She survives.
Also surviving, his children, Jerry Lacey of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Mark Lacey of Wichta Falls, Texas, Kelly Lacey of Noblesville, Indiana and Timothy Lacey of Huntsville, Alabama., One sister, Blanch Matherly of Noblesville, Indiana and three brothers, Jim Lacey, Robert Lacey and Clifford Lacey all of Noblesville, Indiana. Eleven grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Ella Mae Beaver and one brother Charles Lacey.
He was a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool, cards and bowling. He served 14 years in the United States Navy in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge and former member of the Eagles and VFW.
Visitation for Mr. Lacey will be Saturday, April 6, 2013 starting at 11:00 am with the funeral following at 1:00 pm in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel at Neelyville, Mo. burial will be in the Kinsey Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Fowler officiating.
