Florence McComb, 73, of Neelyville, Mo., died Friday, July 24, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. McComb was born April 15, 1942 in St. Louis, Mo. She worked as a home service worker in the home healthcare business. She served on the City Council from 1994 - 2007 as well as serving as mayor and a head start teacher for Neelyville. Mrs. McComb was also a member of the Eastern Star Ruth Chapter #23 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She was a member of the Agape House of Worship in Neelyville, where she served as church secretary , treasurer, Sunday school teacher, choir director. On May 10, 1969 she married Ted McComb in Corning, Ar. He survives. Also surviving are her 8 children, Teddy McComb Jr. & wife Cindy of Neelyville, Mo., Cliff McComb & wife Jennifer of Wichita, Ks., Pat Wallace & husband Lee of Neelyville, Donnell McComb & wife Lorratta of Neelyville, Mo., Katina Howell & Husband Gerald of Wichita, Ks., Troy McComb & wife Gina of Del Rio,TX., Kristina Gibson & husband Linden of Columbia, Mo., Lennell Wilson & husband Kevin of Columbia, Mo.; Retha Deaner, raised by Florence as a daughter; 35 grandchildren; and 74 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was one son, Edward McComb; parents, Javers BrownLee Sr. and Homerzell McFadden; 4 sisters, Vernita BrownLee, Gerelean BrownLee, Fannie Barker, Marcella BrownLee; and 3 brothers, Javers BrownLee, Isaiah Smith, and Lewis Charles Smith. Funeral Services will begin with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 with funeral arrangements beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. Pastor Donnell McComb will be officiating and burial will take place at the Neelyville Cemetery.
