Francis Reba Spears (Prevatt) of Harviell, Mo., passed away Friday, December 2, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
She was born September 23, 1944 in Higdon, Arkansas. She had lived in Harviell for the past 35 years and formerly lived in California. She was of the Southern Baptist faith and had worked as a cake decorator.
She loved computers, Facebook, reading, cooking and sewing and loved being with her grandchildren.
On July 9, 1960, she was married to Thomas Jennings Prevatt. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1989.
Surviving are her children, Sheila Swofford and husband, David, of Virginia Beach, Va., Shelli Donley and husband, Greg, and Robin Fears and husband, Russel, all of Harviell, Mo., Sherri Butler and husband, Tony, of Poplar Bluff; her mother, Muriel (Rollins) Bates of Poplar Bluff; her sister, Ruth Withrow of Poplar Bluff; her brother, Ernest Bates of Poplar Bluff; her grandchildren, Dani, Shawn, Amanda, Mychael, Jessica, Joshua, Tarah, Laura, Kyle and Kayli; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Marley, Beau, Jonathon, Mattie and arriving soon, Ledger and Carson.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Bates; a sister, Carolyn Sexton; and a brother, Jimmy Bates.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m., at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo. with Pastor Stephen Patterson officiating. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Memorial Garden Cemetery, Poplar Bluff.
