Frank Earl Jr., 75, of Alton,Ill., passed away Monday, May 5, 2014, at his home. He was a Poplar Bluff resident.
Mr. Earl was born June 29, 1938, at Earl, Arkansas, to the late Frank Earl Sr. and Callie Lee (Rice) Earl. He retired as a steel labor mechanic and enjoyed gardening, fishing, singing and playing the guitar. He was of the Baptist faith and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
On October 8, 2013 he married JoAnn (Thomas) Earl in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She survives.
He is also survived by his children, Annette Earl, Ida Earl, Kevin Earl, Latisha Earl-Holloway, Frankie Johnson and Frank Earl lll; five sisters, Mary J Earl, Pricilla "Peaches" Earl-Newbern, Jean Earl-Wise, Quencella Earl- Ridgeway and Malliah Earl- Marant; two brothers, Charles Ricky Earl and Lorenzo "Butch" Earl; as well as nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, Mo., followed by funeral service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Johnny Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
