Frank Sidney Smody, 59, of Neelyille died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at his home. Mr. Smody, a faithful christian, was born April 8, 1955, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He was a farmer and co-owner of Smody Farms. He enjoyed his family, antique tractors, collecting toy farm equipment and farming. He was a member of the executive board of C.C.S.B.A. Sidney also attened First Baptist Church of Harviell, where he was a deacon and Sunday school superintendent.
On March 28, 1975, he married Faye Langston at Harviell, Mo. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Shawn Smody and Jamie of Grandin, Mo.; two daughters, Kari Smody and Sonya Smody, both of Neelyville, Mo.; one sister, Jana Boyd and husband, George Boyd III, of Springfield, Mo., and one brother Michael S. Smody and wife, Pat of Neelyville, Mo.; two grandchildren, Shane Smody and Sydney Smody: nephews, nieces, and many other in-laws and a special friend, Banjo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Smody Jr., on Jan. 1 2012, and mother, Thelma Jane Chatman Smody, on January 23, 1999; and one nephew, Michael Steven Smody II.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m, Friday May 30, 2014, at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 31, 2014, at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Tommy Knodell assisted by Rev. Drew Simmons. Burial will be in Dunning Cemetery.
