Frank Merrit Srstka, 83 , of Poplar Bluff passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Poplar Bluff. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the Mo. Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri. Mr. Srstka was born July 29, 1927, at Tyndall, South Dakota. He formerly lived at Klamath Falls, Oregan. He was of the Catholic Faith and was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked as an air conditioning and refrigeration technician. On May 4, 1952 , he was married to Nadine Hagan Srstka in California. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2008. He also was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Carol Strahle; his parents, Stephen L. Srstka and Emma Carda Srstka; and a brother, Stephen J. Srstka. Surviving are a sister, Ione Deken and husband, Clemens, of Poplar Bluff; step grandchildren Kevin Shea and Ernest Strechle; a special nephew, Steve Rueck and wife, Teresa of Williamsville and other nieces and nephews.
