Fred Lee Porter, 66 of Naylor passed away October 17, 2012 at the Missouri Rehab Center in Mt Vernon, Missouri. He was born May 30, 1946 at Poplar Bluff, Missouri to the late Paul Porter and Lona Moore Porter.
He was a lifelong resident of the Naylor area. He had served in the United States Marine corps. during the Vietnam War. He had received several medals including the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Naylor Masonic Lodge #643 and the American Legion at Naylor and a life time member of the VFW. He also served on the Naylor RII School District board for 18 years, as well as the Drainage district board and Naylor cemetery board. He was a farmer and enjoyed farming, reading, talking with friends and helping people and spending time with his grandsons, Conner and Luke.
On august 30, 1969 at Oxly, Missouri He was married to Genevieve White. she survives. also surviving is one daughter, Kim St.Cin and husband Billy of Hernando, Mississippi, his grandsons, Conner and Luke St.Cin of the home. Three sisters, Nellie Jennings of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Valene Dickie of Darnell, Arkansas, and Linda Hager and husband Rick of Oklahoma. Two brothers also survive, Dale Porter and wife Mary of Naylor, Missouri and Ed Stark of Memphis, Tennessee.Special Sister-in-Laws Emmie and husband Mike Deterding, Zuna Woolard and husband Joe and Lavern White.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Edna Morrison and one brother Raymond Stark.
Visitation will be Saturday October 20, 2012 starting at 6:00 p.m. with the funeral Sunday October 21, 2012 starting at 2:00 p.m. At the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neeylville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery with Donnie Fowler Officiating.
