Gary Lynn Kenser, 63, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Sunday February 19, 2017 at the John J Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Kenser was born February 24, 1953 in Fairdealing, Mo. He was a member of Green Forest Church of Christ, Grandin Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge Poplar Bluff, and two years as past commander of the DAV Chapter in Poplar Bluff. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Kenser retired from WE Sears Youth Center and enjoyed working with youth and in-home church meetings.
On January 14, 1983 he was united in marriage to Darlean (Pruett) Kenser in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Chad Kenser and Laneshia Kenser; his father, William D. Kenser; a sister, Pamela Sue Kenser (Tommy); 2 brothers, Larry Kenser (Kim), Kim David Kenser (Tandie); as well as 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kenser was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Evelyn Kenser; a sister, Vickie Orr and brother, Frank Bradish.
The funeral procession will leave Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff, at 1:15 p.m. Thurs. Feb 23, 2017 for a 2 p.m. interment in the wall at the Mo. State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in honor of Gary to the W.E. Sears Youth Center, 9400 Sears Lane Poplar Bluff, Mo. 63901, to the CLC Liaison in care of Rick Stewart.
