Celebrating the Life of Geraldine Youngblood

Geraldine Youngblood, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, was born on November 1, 1955, to the union of the late Tommie D. and Rosia M. Harley of Broseley, Missouri. After a courageous battle with cancer, Geraldine peacefully departed this life on August 12, 2026.

Geraldine was a woman whose life was defined by faith, love, family, and service to others. She had a beautiful spirit and a heart that seemed to have room for everyone. She loved singing, reading her Bible, writing songs, and sharing her gift for cooking. There was something special about the way she brought people together, and many will forever remember the love and warmth that surrounded her. Above all, Geraldine loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the treasures of her heart. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply be there when someone needed her. Her love extended far beyond her immediate family. Many nieces, nephews, and extended family members looked to her as a second mother because of the unconditional love, guidance, and care she freely gave. Geraldine was a true prayer warrior. No matter what you were going through or what you called her about, before the conversation ended, you could almost always hear her say, “I am going to pray for you.” She believed in the power of prayer and never hesitated to take the concerns of others before God. Her faith was not simply something she talked about—it was a part of who she was and how she lived her life. Geraldine was the heart of her family. She was a source of strength, comfort, wisdom, laughter, and love. Her presence brought peace, and her absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled. The memories she created, the prayers she prayed, the songs she wrote, the meals she prepared, and the love she poured into so many lives will continue to live on through the generations she leaves behind. Geraldine leaves to cherish her precious memory: her devoted husband, Wilbert Youngblood; her children, Fonetha Collins, Wilbert Lee Youngblood Jr., Derrick (Jeannie) Youngblood, and Keshia Youngblood; and her great-nephew, Brice Harley “Antwoin”, who loved her dearly and looked to her as a second mother.

She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Darion Collins, Quae'Shawn Collins, Michael Rau Jr., Alaysha Rau, Lovantae (Lindsay) Youngblood, Kayla Youngblood, Kendra Youngblood, Kendall Youngblood, Kelsey Wadley, and Joy Bleich; her great-grandchildren, Rozelynn Youngblood and Aspen Youngblood; her sisters, Ju(a)ntia Lewis, Shirley M. Woods, Kathrene “Kathy” (Ken) Tillman, Loran Walton, Brenda L. Walker, and Marchelle A. Harley; her brothers, Melvin Harley and Dennis Harley; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Tommie D. and Rosia M. Harley; her sister, Yvonne Harley; and her brothers, Billie J. Harley, Willard G. Harley, Tommy L. Harley, James L. Harley, Homer L. Harley, and her nephew Roy S Harley.

Though our hearts are heavy with the pain of losing her, we find comfort in knowing that Geraldine's love, faith, and legacy will continue through every life she touched. She taught us the importance of family, the power of prayer, the beauty of kindness, and the strength that comes from trusting in God. Her voice may be quiet now, but the prayers she prayed will continue to echo through the lives of those she loved. Her hands may no longer prepare the meals, her voice may no longer sing the songs, and her arms may no longer embrace us—but her love will remain with us forever. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Rest peacefully, Geraldine. Your work here is done. Receive your crown, faithful servant. Until we meet again, we will carry your love in our hearts.
