Penny Hollingsworth

Penny Hollingsworth, 79, of Poplar Bluff, MO, woke up in the loving arms of Jesus on May 3, 2026. Penny was born January 9, 1947, in Fairmont City, Illinois, to Mabel Couch. She was the second oldest of four siblings. On September 4, 1965, she married the love of her life, Terry Hollingsworth, in St. Louis, MO. They celebrated 60 wonderful years together. As Penny would say, September 4th was the best day of Terry’s life. Penny was all about her family. She is survived by her greatest blessings, her husband Terry; her children, Terry Hollingsworth Jr. and Tonya (Billy) Rudd; her grandchildren, Terrance Hollingsworth, Heather (Drew) Oursbourn, Jessica Durbin, Dalton (Ellen) Hollingsworth, Ashley Hollingsworth, Matt (Cassie) Tubb, Sabrina Rudd, and Tabetha Rudd; and her many great-grandchildren: Ainsley, Briar, Mabel, Miles, Harper, Henley, Carson, Amirra, Nolan, Stetson, Colby, Ona, Landon, Aubrey, and Brinley, along with many more relatives and friends. Penny was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Couch; her sisters, Carol and Annabel; and her brother, Billy. Penny was a proud member of Cornerstone Tabernacle Church. She led the church’s card ministry for many years, handing out over 300 birthday, anniversary, and sympathy cards. She loved to work crossword puzzles, watch crime shows, and was famous for her hot pickles. She never met a stranger and loved to tell people about Jesus. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
