Gladys M. Rankin

Gladys M. Rankin, 83, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. She was born in Ithaca, Michigan March 26, 1933. On July 5, 1957, she married Willis A. Rankin in Lansing, Michigan. He preceded her in death October 26, 1993. To this union a daughter, Madeline F. Sauls was born. Mrs. Rankin was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Poplar Bluff, a lifetime member of the DAV, member of the VFW and the CCC Chapter 62. She worked for the State of Michigan in the state title and registry office and also worked 6 years in Alaska in communications. She had a great affection for animals and loved her grandson dearly. Mrs. Rankin is survived by her daughter, Madeline; her grandson, Ryan Sauls and a great-grandson, Patrick Thomas Rae Sauls. Visitation was held at 9 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by the funeral at 9:30 a.m. Burial was held at 1:45 p.m., at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis.
