Glen Denver Young, 81, of Naylor, Mo., passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Oak Dale Residential Care in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Young was born on November 25, 1935 in Naylor. He worked as a farmer and enjoyed hunting, running his dogs, outdoors and gardening. He drove the school bus for the Naylor school district from 1968-1981 and attended the Naylor Pentecostal Church.
On June 2, 1977 he married Chris Averhart. She survives.
Also surviving are children, Iris Luebbert (Kenneth) of St. Peters and Bonnie White of Naylor; 2 sisters, Louise Johnson(Ray) of Poplar Bluff and Loretta Sullivan of Poplar Bluff; 1 brother, Jimmy Young (Donna) of Naylor; grandchildren, Brian (Christina) Onder, Brandy (Christopher) Maibes, Bradley Onder, Shen Ayles, Todd Burkett, Chad Burkett, April (Chad) Callicott, and Luke Walker; as well as 17 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one son, Rex Walker; his parents, Walter and Florence (Fowler)Young; brothers, Calvin and Weldon Young; and brother-in-law, O’Neil Sullivan and sister-in-law, Marie Young.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday December 14, 2016, with Donnie Fowler officiating. Burial will be held at Gum Cemetery near Naylor.
