Grover P. Dycus, 77, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Dycus was born December 29, 1936, in Gatlin, Tenn. to the late Richard Calvin Dycus and Leugenia (Burns) Dycus. He had worked on the river for over 58 years and was a manager and captain. He enjoyed wood working, camping, cooking and classic cars. He was of the Baptist faith.
On March 20, 1970, he married Shirley (Ham) Dycus in St. Louis, Mo. She survives.
He is also survived by four sons, Dennis Dycus (Diane), Tony Dycus (Christy), Tim Dycus and Jeff Dycus; one brother, Jerry Dycus (Jane); six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death include a sister, Martha and brother, Donald.
Visitation was held at 12 p.m. Saturday June 21, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff followed by a graveside funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Brown Chapel Cemetery, Broseley, Mo. with Calvin Ham and Bro. Ken Johnson officiating.
