Hardy Barker Jr

Hardy Barker Jr., 85, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away January 26, 2017 in the John J. Pershing V.A Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was born September 14, 1931 at Advance, Missouri to the late Hardy Barker Sr. and Rhoda Hendrickson Barker He was married to Thelma Colleen Barker and she preceded him in death on June 20, 2008. He then married Dessie Allen Wilson on September 14, 2008. She survives.Also surviving; son-in-law, Jack Rodgers of St. Louis, Missouri. Two sisters; Evelene Nesbit of Doniphan, Missouri and Gladys Fann of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. One brother; Homer Leslie Barker of St. Clair, Missouri. Two grandchildren; Timothy Rodgers of St. Louis, Missouri and Shawn Rodgers of Lovettsville, Virginia. two great grandchildren; Jack S. and Jeremy Rodgers both Of Lovettsville, Virginia. He is also survived by his step children; Karen Betz, Bryan Wilson, Wayne Wilson and Robert all of Val Paraiso, Indiana and Lori Windsor of Alto, Michigan. Twelve step Grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren also survive He is also preceded in death by one daughter; Anita Mae Rodgers, one sister; Ethel Fredrick and two brothers, Clyde Barker and Elvis Y. Barker. And one step daughter; Cyndy Powell. He had served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW at Success, Arkansas. He enjoyed fishing, farming, cows and hunting. Visitation for Mr. Barker will be Tues January 31, 2017 at 10:00 am with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville, Missouri. Interment will be in the Syclone Cemetery at Doniphan, Missouri with Pastor Truman Chatman and Pastor Justin Knight officiating.
