Howard "Eugene" Greer Sr

Howard "Eugene" Greer Sr., 70, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016, at his home. Mr. Greer was born July 31, 1945, in Poplar Bluff. He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1971, during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Poplar Bluff R-1 School system. He is survived by four children, Howard Greer (Stephanie), Bobbie Hayes, Sherry Million (Steve), and John Greer (Jenny); four sisters, Nettie Coleman, Joyce Mercurio, Grace McKnight and Sandra Ketchens; one brother, Walter Greer; nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick Homer Greer and Norma Emeline (Patterson) Greer; 4 brothers, Howell, Delbert, Fred and Bill Greer. Visitation was held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service, with full military rites, followed at 1 p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Bloomfield, Mo. The Rev. Henry Pasquet officiated the services.
