Howard Zane Turner of Neelyville Mo., cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed from this world to his eternal home on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at the age of 85.
Mr. Turner was born Jan 2, 1928 in Arkansas to Burl and Tula Mae Turner.
On November 5, 1948 he married Wilma Knowlton She preceded him in death.
He married Barbara Burns on September 13, 1990, She survives.
Howard ran Turner Farms for 50 years before he retired in 1995.
Mr Turner was an avid gunsmith who worked on many guns over the years enjoyed collecting guns and a personal collection. He was also active member of the NRA. Howard loved the outdoors and was a life-long hunter and fisherman. His home showed his passion for hunting by his various hunting trophies.
He was of the Church of Christ faith and a man with upstanding character.
He believed in hard work and a handshake was as good as your word.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Turner (Lori), Mike Turner (LaDonna), two stepdaughters, Debbie Royer, Stephanie Pennington (Joe) one stepson, Don Burns (Sherry).
13 grandchildren Brandi Lumby (Justin), Ryan Turner (Becky), Tyler Turner, Sonya Turner-Sutton, Ashley Turner, Donnie Turner (Michell), Chuck Hunter, Chris Hunter (Kelly), Alex Burns, Grant Burns, Dylan Pennington (Melissa), Marcus Pennington and Breanna Pennington and 11 great-grandchildren.
Howard is also survived by 4 sisters Zelphia, Cona, Betty and Mary Jo. 3 brothers Burley, Tom and Drew and a special friend Willie McComb.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by one child, David Ray Turner, one grandson, one sister, seven brothers and his parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday Feb. 18, 2013, after 6:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Neelyville Mo.
With funeral services held on Tuesday Feb. 19, 2013 at 2:00 pm also at the Chapel
Officiating will be Orbra Williams and internment will be in Memorial Gardens, Poplar Bluff Mo.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the N.R.A.
